About Armor K9
Protection Begins with What Matters Most.
Armor K9 exists to help people live with greater confidence through thoughtfully selected and developed family protection dogs, responsible training, honest guidance, and enduring support.
Why Armor K9 Exists
Confidence to Live Freely.
Protection has never been about teaching people to live in fear. It has always been about giving them the confidence to live freely.
Armor K9 was established to protect people—not property alone. Our work begins by understanding the lives they lead, the people who depend upon them, and the responsibilities they carry.
A protection dog can provide something uniquely personal. The dog lives within the home as a trusted companion while possessing a carefully developed capability to protect when necessary. That capability matters, but it must always remain stable, controlled, and in service to those it protects.
The family comes first. The dog comes second. Every Armor K9 decision begins there.
The Armor K9 Standard
Judgment Before Recommendation.
Meaningful protection begins with understanding the people before recommendations. Armor K9 listens first—considering the individual, household, lifestyle, experience, concerns, expectations, and responsibilities before determining what path may be appropriate.
Our recommendations are guided by professional judgment rather than inventory, convenience, or commercial opportunity. Sometimes that means proceeding with confidence. Sometimes it means waiting, choosing a different approach, or declining the work entirely.
We believe our clients deserve honest counsel, even when the right recommendation is not the easiest or most profitable one. Standards must come before convenience, and the long-term well-being of the family and the dog must come before the transaction.
Armor K9 does not begin by asking which dog someone wants.
We begin by understanding what they need.

The Family, the Dog, and the Responsibility
Strength Under Control.™
A protection dog must first be capable of living well as a trusted companion. Stability, sound temperament, reliable obedience, clear communication, and household manners are not separate from protection. They are its foundation.
Protection is a capability—not the dog’s identity. It must remain under responsible human authority and be exercised only when appropriate. Armor K9 does not cultivate uncontrolled aggression, unnecessary intimidation, or behavior that makes ordinary life more difficult.
That standard carries responsibilities for everyone involved. Armor K9 is responsible for honest evaluation, thoughtful development, clear instruction, and continuing guidance. The client is responsible for leadership, reinforcement, consistency, and maintaining the work throughout the dog’s life.
The relationship succeeds when the family, the dog, and Armor K9 each remain faithfully engaged in the responsibility they share.

The Mark of Armor K9
The Guardian Shield.
The Armor K9 shield was inspired by something already present in the dog itself. While exploring a mark that could represent the future of Armor K9, we recognized the natural shape of a shield within the chest of a working dog.
The Y at its center echoes the form of a harness worn by a protection dog—representing readiness, purpose, and control.
Together, these elements became the Guardian Shield: a symbol of companionship, protection, and Strength Under Control.™ It reflects the principle at the center of Armor K9: Companion first. Protector second.™
Beyond Protection Dogs
A Better Life with Your Dog.
Family protection dogs are Armor K9’s defining specialty, but our responsibility to people and dogs extends beyond protection.
The same foundations that make a protection dog reliable—leadership, communication, stability, obedience, and control—also help pet owners build better lives with their dogs. Through puppy development, private training, residential programs, and selected educational and safety programs, Armor K9 helps owners establish clearer expectations and more dependable relationships.
The objective is not to make every dog a protection dog. It is to help people understand their dogs, provide responsible leadership, and develop the confidence to include them more fully in everyday life.
Whether the work involves a family protection dog or a household companion, the standard remains the same: thoughtful guidance, honest expectations, responsible training, and respect for both the people involved and the dog.
The Experience Behind Armor K9
Protection Viewed as a Whole.
Armor K9 was founded by Lee Divelbiss, Family Protection Specialist, whose experience has shaped a broader understanding of what meaningful protection requires.
Lee’s background includes service as an Army Combat Engineer, firearms instruction, residential security planning, founding Preparedness Headquarters, and being featured as a National Geographic Explorer. His work as a dog trainer and protection-dog professional brought those disciplines together around one enduring responsibility: Protect What Matters Most.™
That experience taught him that no tool, dog, or training method should be recommended without first understanding the person who will depend upon it. Effective protection is not created by fear or by choosing the most imposing option available. It comes from sound judgment, preparation, responsible leadership, and capabilities suited to the life they are intended to support.
Those lessons became part of the Armor K9 Standard—establishing principles that guide the company beyond any one service, dog, or individual.
Built to Endure
A Standard Worth Preserving.
Armor K9 was founded with the belief that standards worth establishing are standards worth preserving.
The company’s character, judgment, and responsibilities are not intended to depend upon one person’s preferences. Everyone entrusted with representing Armor K9 shares an obligation to protect its purpose, uphold its standards, and leave the company stronger than they received it.
Methods, technology, and services may evolve. The responsibility remains constant: place those we serve first, communicate truthfully, exercise sound judgment, care faithfully for every dog, and protect the trust carried by the Armor K9 name.
This is how Armor K9 honors what has been built while preparing the company to uphold those responsibilities for generations to come.
Who Armor K9 Serves
A Relationship of Mutual Responsibility.
Armor K9 is best suited for people who value honest guidance, thoughtful preparation, responsible ownership, and a lasting relationship built upon trust.
Our clients understand that the right dog or training path is determined by suitability—not appearance, intimidation, convenience, or impulse. They are prepared to provide leadership, reinforce what their dog has learned, maintain clear expectations, and remain involved throughout the dog’s life.
Armor K9 will not recommend a dog, accept an objective, or pursue work that compromises the welfare of the dog, the safety of the family, or the standards of the company. When another path would serve someone better, we will say so plainly and respectfully.
The right relationship begins with shared expectations: Armor K9 provides judgment, preparation, education, and support. The people and families we serve provide leadership, consistency, responsibility, and care. Each has a role in creating an outcome that can endure.
